A sense of calm sweeps over me
As I fly over the mountains and valleys
The lush green, the scene so serene
Feels like heaven, doesn't feel real.
Above the clouds in the sky
Scattered amidst the mountainous sites
The muddy waters of the meandering valleys deep below
I feel I'm in a meditative trance, therapeutic and oh so mellow!
Tiny houses get smaller the higher I go
The trees and hills seem like shades of uneven green like a kaleidoscope.
Which fool would not sign an indemnity bond?
To experience the world from the skies and wander through a journey to the imagination beyond.
The peotic license is mine
The glistening valley I leave behind
I go past condense clouds
Below I notice the after effects of nature's wrath.
I see the effects of landslides before my very eyes
Is this really where serenity too lies?
Am I dreaming of am I really in a choppe?
Is that the sound of the helicopter?
I marvel at the beauty
As I fly down low past the boulders and valleys.
We touch down upon a helipad
I dread the quake affected site I'll witness
Hope it isn't that bad.
I get down at a helipad
Relief material and fuel supplies with me land
Wit us we take back stranded people
Otherwise lying helpless and psychologically crippled.
Now they sit beside me safe and sound
No more destruction and boulders around
The scenic beauty as I flew took my breath away
But reality shook me out of my dream and haze.
